Dye-LIF Call for Samples

Dakota is working with AMEC and researchers at Guelph (Canada) to develop and demonstrate a new technology called Dye-LIF. Our goal is to detect and characterize chlorinated DNAPL in the subsurface using modified versions of traditional LIF.

Testing of chlorinated DNAPLs from sites around North America has revealed that the majority of chlorinated DNAPL samples fluoresce enough on their own to allow either UVOST or TarGOST to be used to characterize them and won’t require the new Dye-LIF system. But the sample set examined to date is limited and we encourage you to submit samples from your chlorinated DNAPL sites. We’ll analyze them (free of charge) and determine if Dye-LIF, UVOST, or TarGOST could be used to quickly and accurately delineate your site’s chlorinated DNAPLs. If the test results meet certain criteria, your site may even be chosen to receive a free demo characterization project!
