Direct Push Technology (DPT) Services
Direct Push Technology (DPT), or "direct push" machines push tools and sensors into the ground without the use of drilling to remove soil. A DPT machine relies on static weight of the carrier vehicle, combined with percussion as the energy for advancement of a tool string. DPT tools do not remove cuttings from the probe hole but depend on compression of soil or rearrangement of soil particles to permit advancement of the tool string. Using a DPT machine, tools can be driven to obtain continuous or discrete soil cores, obtain ground water or vapor samples, install permanent sampling points, inject remediation materials, or drive a direct sensing tool such as an Ultra-Violet Optical Screening Tool (UVOST®), Tar-specific Green Optical Screening Tool (TarGOST®), Membrane Interface Probe (MIP), or Hydraulic Probing Tool (HPT) to map subsurface lithogy or contaminants.
Whatever your application, Dakota has a direct push unit to fulfill your project needs. Dakota's fleet of direct push units is equipped with some of the most powerful and versatile DPT equipment in the industry.
Dakota provides the following DPT services using all-terrain and truck-mounted equipment:
Continuous soil testing via Dual-Tube and/or Macro-Core samplers
